Submittal for a Temporary Tent Structure (190’x70’) for International Justice Mission 9/28/2018-9/30/2018
We have received and reviewed the proposed site location and documentation for a temporary tent structure in accordance with ordinances adopted by the City of Frisco. The location and use were found acceptable subject to the following comments.
1. An inspection from the Fire Marshal’s Office and the Building Department is required prior to occupancy. Need to call the Fire Marshal’s Office at 972-292-6328, when the tent and equipment are set and ready for inspection.
2. Tents cannot obstruct the fire lane, vehicular traffic flow, or the pedestrian sidewalk and ramps.
3. Need to post the occupant load sign: Maximum Occupant Load 886.
4. Need to provide (4) exits spaced at equal intervals around the perimeter of each tent. Minimum width of each exit is 96 inches wide. Exit openings must comply with the 2015 IFC Chapter 24. Aisle widths and exits shall be maintained per the 2015 IFC and 2015 IBC.
5. An illuminated exit sign shall be provided over each required exit.
6. Emergency egress lighting required throughout the tent to provide a 1ft candela rating at the floor surface.
7. Two sources of power is required for the emergency lights and exit signs.
8. The generators shall be located a minimum 20ft from the tent. The generator will need to be separated from the public by a fence or other type of approved enclosure. The generator will need to be inspected by Developmental Service Electrical Inspector.
9. Need to provide (7) 2A10BC “ABC” fire extinguisher in a selected area (Tent) that can be reached within 75 ft of all tent structure.
a. The fire extinguisher must have a current inspection tag.
b. The fire extinguisher shall be placed in the path of egress and mounted so that its top is not more than 5 feet above the floor.
10. Need to provide and post a “NO SMOKING” sign on all side of the interior of the tent structure.
11. Smoking, open flames or cooking is not permitted under tent structures.
12. Open flame devices are not permitted within the tent or located within 20 feet of the tent exterior.
13. Must meet all the minimum requirements of the International Fire Code and Building Code.
14. Additional requirements may be required when a site inspection is conducted.
