A PROJECTING SIGN MAY PROJECT INTO THE RIGHT-OF-WAY, BUT SHALL BE LOCATED A MINIMUM OF THREE FEET BACK FROM A CURB OR ANY ADJACENT STREET OR DRIVE. WHEN A PROJECTING SIGN IS CONSTRUCTED OVER A PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY OR DRIVE, A MINIMUM OF NINE FEET CLEARANCE SHALL BE PROVIDED BETWEEN THE GRADE OF THE SIDEWALK OR DRIVE AND THE LOWEST PORTION OF A PROJECTING SIGN. A PROJECTING SIGN SHALL NOT EXTEND ABOVE A BUILDING WALL. SUPPORT STRUCTURE FROM WHICH THE PROJECTING PANEL IS SUSPENDED IS TO BE DECORATIVE IN NATURE AND TO BE MADE OF METAL AND SUPPORTS ARE TO BE ENGINEERED TO WITHSTAND LOCAL WIND LOADS. SIGNAGE PANEL, LETTERING AND GRAPHICS SHALL BE MADE OF WOOD, SYNTHETIC WOOD OR METAL. THE HEIGHT OF A VERTICAL PROJECTING SIGN SHALL NOT EXCEED 75% OF THE OVERALL WALL LENGTH OF WALL ON WHICH IT IS ERECTED OR MAXIMUM OF 25 FEET. SIGN SHALL BE DOUBLE-SIDED AND DEPTH OF SIGN SHALL NOT EXCEED 15 INCHES INCLUDING DEPTH OF APPLIED LETTERS OR GRAPHICS.
