1. This will be repair/reconstruction of a retaining wall generally ranging from two (2) to four (4) feet along the entire length of Ferndale Lane due to storm damage. The retaining wall contractor will be allowed to build according to the original engineering plans. Certain aspects of the Engineering Department guidelines for permitting, design, and construction of stone retaining walls dated March 30, 2012 (attached herewith) will not apply by design due to site constraints, occupied dwellings/accessory structures and condition of the portions of the walls that remain intact. Any portion of wall that is deemed structural sound and does not require repair or to be rebuilt shall be documented by a structural engineer and provided to the City. A work plan for each lot(s) shall be provided to the City prior to the start of construction activities on the site. The construction of the wall will be subject to field inspection in order to meet the intent of the guidelines.

LETTER OF ENGINEER FINAL ACCEPTANCE REQUIRED FOR INSPECTION AND CONSTRUCTION CONFORMANCE WITH DESIGN DRAWINGS.
PROVIDE EROSION CONTROL THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION. PROVIDE SOIL STABILIZATION AT COMPLETION OF PROJECT.
***ENGINEERS DESIGN WILL NOT SUPPORT SURCHARGE LOADS OF BUILDINGS.
***NO PORTION OF RETAINING WALL SHALL BE LOCATED IN ADJACENT FLOODWAY EASEMENT.
***GRADING CHANGE SHALL NOT OBSTRUCT DRAINAGE OF ADJACENT PROPERTIES.
***FENCE REPLACEMENT NOT SHOWN. SEPARATE PERMIT REQUIRED.
***SUBDIVISION HOA APPROVED MAY BE REQUIRED.
