PROJECTING SIGN
A PROJECTING SIGN MAY PROJECT INTO THE RIGHT-OF-WAY, BUT SHALL BE LOCATED A MINIMUM OF THREE FEET BACK FROM A CURB OR ANY ADJACENT STREET OR DRIVE. A PROJECTING SIGN MAY EXTEND A MAXIMUM OF THREE FEET FROM THE FACADE OF A BUILDING. WHEN A PROJECTING SIGN IS CONSTRUCTED OVER A PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY OR DRIVE, A MINIMUM OF (9) NINE FEET CLEARANCE SHALL BE PROVIDED BETWEEN THE GRADE OF THE SIDEWALK OR DRIVE AND THE LOWEST PORTION OF A PROJECTING SIGN. A PROJECTING SIGN SHALL NOT EXTEND ABOVE A BUILDING WALL. MAXIMUM AREA OF PROJECTING SIGN IS 12 SQUARE FEET.
**IN OTC DISTRICT, THE OFFICIAL LOGO (THE STEAM ENGINE) OF THE HISTORIC DOWNTOWN SHALL BE INCORPORATED INTO THE FRAME OF A PROJECTING SIGN. THE LOGO MAY BE ADDED TO THE SIGN INSTEAD OF THE FRAME. IN EITHER CASE THE LOGO SHALL BE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE PROJECTING SIGN.**
